Aussie slugger takes aim at Donaire
(By Adrian Warren - news.smh.com.au)

May 21, 2010

Australia's newest three-division world boxing champion Vic Darchinyan is adamant a hand injury won't delay his next fight - a potential rematch with Filipino Nonito Donaire.

Darchinyan joined former trainer Jeff Fenech and good friend Danny Green as the only Australians to have won a world title bout in three different divisions.

The power punching Sydneysider added the IBO bantamweight title to his collection on Thursday with a unanimous 12-round points win over Filipino Eric Barcelona in Sydney.

The 34-year-old Armenian-born slugger became the first man ever to win IBO world title belts in three divisions after previously capturing that organisation's flyweight and super flyweight crowns.
