Rodney Berman of Golden Gloves Promotions has announced the final bill for the July 11 tournament to be held at Emperors Palace near Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa. In possibly two of the most eagerly awaited clashes in recent South African boxing history, Phillip Ndou faces former IBF junior welterweight champion Lovemore Ndou in a fight for the vacant IBO welterweight belt, and two unbeaten young prospects, Tommy Oosthuizen and Jared Lovett head the bill in a clash for the vacant IBO Youth light heavyweight belt.

Rodney Berman has indicated that the winner of the Ndou vs Ndou fight could challenge the winner of the Isaac Hlatshawayo vs Delvin Rodriguez clash for the vacant IBF welterweight belt.

Somebody’s 0 has to go when Oosthuizen (8-0, 8 KOs) meets Lovett (8-0, 8 KOs) in an intriguing match-up of two big punchers that should not go the full 12 rounds.

In the third scheduled 12 rounder on the card, South African bantamweight champion Simphiwe Vetyeka meets Eric Barcelona from the Philippines for the vacant IBO bantamweight belt.

The 67 fight veteran Barcelona is well known to South Africans because in November 2004 he took Silence Mabuza all the way in a challenge for the same
IBO belt.

Also on the card is the unbeaten and exciting young junior flyweight Hekkie
Budler who meets up with Khanyakunde Mukansi in a return match scheduled for
eight rounds.

In the opening bout of the night, lightweights Thompson Makwena and Thulane
Mbatha meet over four rounds.

The officials for the Ndou vs Ndou fight are: Supervisor, Len Hunt,
referee, Lulama Mtya (SA), and the judges are Deon Dwarte (SA), David
Moretti (USA), Bruce McTavish (Philippines).

The officials for the Vetyeka versus Barcelona match are: Supervisor, Charlie Payne (UK), referee, Roberto Ramirez (Puerto Rico), judges, Ace Makaluza (SA), David Moretti (USA), BruceMcTavish (Philippines).
