Soliman Stops Kietbusaba!
(by Ray Wheatley - fightnews.com)
08/16/2009 - Soliman has scored many of his best victories in the USA when he outpointed world rated middleweights Enrique Ornelas in 2007, Fernando Zuniga in 2005 and Raymond Joval in 2004. The fight that lifted Soliman’s profile was when he dropped a controversial decision to Ronald Winky Wright in 2005. Punch stats in that fight also had Soliman outscoring Wright.
“I am now boxing in my correct division. I am a middleweight – I only took the fights at super middleweight against Mundine because it was a world title opportunity. After two or three fights I will be ready to fight the best middleweights in the world,” said Soliman.
On the undercard, heavyweight Solomon Haumona (16-0-1, 14 KOs) was upset and out ponted by Justin Whitehead (3-0, 2 KOs) over ten rounds. Scores: 96-95, 97-95 and 95-94.
Super middleweight Serge Yannick (3-0, 2 KOs) sropped Kashif Mumtaz (5-9-1, 4 KOs) at the conclusion of round five. WBO rated welterweight Samuel Columban (12-3, 5 KOs) stopped Aswin Cabuy (11-10) at the conclusion of round four.
WBO rated super bantamweight Daniel Iannazzo (13-0, 2 KOs) was impressive in scoring a second round knockout over Mohamad Not Rizan (6-1, 3 KOs) of Singapore.
