Tarver: We Back!

NADER Hamdan, Sydney's world-class warrior, has challenged the winner of the October 12 Daniel Geale-Daniel Dawson IBO world middleweight title fight at Penrith Panthers.
Hamdan, who has fought bravely around the globe against such great champs as Arthur Abraham, Otis Grant, Sam Soliman and Mads Larsen, says he only needs seven weeks notice to get ready for the challenge.
"I'd even drop down in weight from super-middleweight (76kg) to middleweight (72.3) to get a world title fight if they'd agree to fight me," Hamdan said.
Hamdan favours the power of Perth slugger Dawson over the silky skills of Sydney-based Geale, who fought at the 2000 Olympics and won a gold medal at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games. Geale is undefeated in 16 fights while Dawson is unbeaten in 29 and coming off a massive first-round knockout victory over Kostya Tszyu's Russian protege Anton Solopov in Sydney three weeks ago.
"Dawson-Geale is going to be a great contest but I have to stick with Dawson because of that explosive power," Hamdan said. "His win over Solopov was devastating but I can't say I was totally surprised.
"Dawson is a huge puncher and Solopov normally takes a couple of rounds to warm up. Geale is going to be a tough test for Dawson but I think Dawson will be the new world champ."
On the same Panthers card Robert Medley, Geale's stablemate from the Grange Old School Boxing gym west of Sydney, will fight South African Isaac Hlatshwayo for the IBO welterweight title.
